Emotional Gold Diggers – EGD
I was speaking to my friend and he told me he was going through a domestic dilemma. I had never seen him so upset before, he was venting his frustration and anger, she’s an Emotional Gold Digger!, he cried. Are there people you know who emotionally upset you all the time and lower or energy? These people are known as EGD’s.
Are you surrounded by people who just drain your sanity? I have found over the years many people tend to share their thoughts with me, I have offered advice and viewed my opinion to those whom I believe needed help. I have learnt nothing is achieved or can be achieved when you are in a depressed state of mind. Don’t talk their talk, do not indulge in their experience if you want to help them, as your really not helping yourself either.
The EGD have a nerve centre that when triggered only can reveal many layers of anger, anxiety and even sadness. These are the reasons why you need to become emotionally valorous.
So take this month to reflect and relocate my thoughts. Stand still for a moment and breathe, now think of what you want from life and people? If you find people are selfish and taking you and your time for granted then distance yourself from them.
Give to family and friends and be compassionate to others but do not get deeply involved in others problems. Leave that for the shrink to sort out, or get them a life coach. Focus on yourself and build your strength, spend time with people who love you, and you love being around them too.
Nourish your relationships, stay away from crazy and life with greatness!!
Black History Month
Black History Month is a remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. It is celebrated annually in the United States and Canada in February and the United Kingdom in the month of October.
Black History Month is also referred to as African-American History Month. The remembrance originated in 1926 by historian Carter G. Woodson to make aware that Black people were treated as low social group and position in society, held as slaves and treated unfairly.
This month I attended my youth club session to discover we were watching a movie. It was called ‘Remember the Titans’, starring famous and superb black actor (Oscar award winner) called Denzel Washington.
The aim of this movie was to remind young people of the struggle, contribution and achievements of black people. The subject of the movie was around sport but shows an amazing message how both black and white communities can live together in harmony and peace.
A must see movie, too good not to watch!!

Delicious Candles
Diwali is a festival in Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism occurring between mid October and mid November. It is also popularly known as the Festival of Lights.
The word Diwali also know as Dipavali literally translates as a row of lamps in Sanskrit. Diwali is celebrated by lighting small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil, light over dark.
During Diwali, many wear new clothes and share sweets/snacks with each other. Some Indian business communities start their financial year by opening new account books on the first day of Diwali for good luck the following year.
Jo Malone candles are perfumed with beautiful scents that can fill any home with both spice and tranquil fragrances. My favorite candle is the amber and sweet orange. I particularly love the travel box combination, which can be used for home or to take away with you, this set consists of three candles of Summer scents :- Amber & Sweet Orange, Spring Jasmine and Grapefruit.
3 x 60g – Priced £54.00
Upon visiting family I suggest the grapefruit scented home candle that transforms and creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.
200gm – Priced £38.00
Give your friends and family a Jo Malone candle this Diwali, I recommend Jo Malone candles, not only do they look elegant but they smell equally delicious.
