Accessorize All Areas!!

Icing is to a cake what accessories are to clothes –(Maryum Sharif)

What are accessories I hear you ask? Accessories are anything that enhance, decorate and accompany your outfit. We use accessories to highlight and accentuate our assets. Accessories are a great way to update an ordinary outfit and change it to make it up-to-date and on trend using current fashion trends of the season.

Examples of accessories can include: -

  • Shoes / boots
  • Bags
  • Jewellery
  • Watches
  • Hats
  • Belts
  • Sunglasses
  • Scarves
  • Glasses
  • Gloves
  • Hair accessories
  • Make-up
  • Nails

It is essential to wear the right accessories at the right time and for the right occasion. Accessorising is quick and simple, once you have learnt the secret of accessorising you will be able to change your outfit within minutes, creating a whole new look.

Select your best feature and flaunt it, for example belts are a great way to enhance shape and show off that waist. On the contrary choose a feature and disguise or camouflage it, for example give yourself some height and wear some killer heels.

Why not choose a signature accessory that will compliment you and give you an individual look. Like Woody Allen is known for his glasses, Cher for her hair and Gwen Stefani for her red lipstick, create a unique look for you.
Change your look within minutes, from professional smart daytime to evening drinks with friends or putting on your dancing shoes.

For the ladies, I would say change your look the easiest way is by adding a necklace or some earring. Earrings are big this season, the bigger the better. Big chandelier, rock star earrings is what you need to be wearing. Also maybe add a belt as that gives instant shape and is a fashion trend this season. Or simply change your make-up for the evening by adding colour and depth.

For the men the ultimate accessory is to own a good quality watch, there is a huge variety of design and styles that will compliment your personality. Another way to enhance yourselves into an evening look can be to change your shoes, remove that tie and to re-design your hair using hair products.

See you next month where i’ll introduce you to the art of personal grooming so you always look polished and pretty. xx

Health & Vitality

Do Your Dance!

We are a quarter through the year and I feel I needed more variety to keep me moving. Yoga is great for relaxation, stretching and training the mind for balance, the gym great for running like Forest Gump and pumping iron like Arnie but at times I feel like my personal trainer is trying to kill me, (no offense my lovely Sasha).

I am a strong believer in variety is the spice of life and usually keep myself busy, however when maintaining health and vitality we need to give you another way to stay in shape and have fun at the same time.

Do you hear a certain song and just want to dance uncontrollably? I love dancing, whether out with friends or whilst doing the cooking I love the way music makes me feel. Bollywood, Funk, Flamingo, Salsa, Tango, Country to the Cha Cha or Street dance, so its time to do your dance!

Funk, disco and reggae makes me move, I’m just loving the group ‘MACDON’ these days as it makes me want to move each time I hear it on the radio. So now choose music that you like and are comfortable with for your new dancing class.

I suggest ‘Pineapple Dance Studio’ for a great variety of dances classes to suit all music minds. Or if you fancy acting like Asian super stars, Go Bollywood and try Honey Kalaria’s Dance Academy for a fun work out.

Hip Hop and the Arabic drum to sexy Salas or popping to locking, choose a dance that elevates your soul because that is what will keep you moving and feeling fabulous.

Life Style

Formula 1

I remember my brother-in-law glued to the television obsessed by F1 and I thought what a waste of time and couldn’t comprehend why he was sitting in front of the television watching cars racing on the track for 50 laps, I thought my brother-in-law was crazy. I must say as a true tennis fan and someone who attends the men’s final each year, F1 seemed like a pointless sport. However the year Micheal Schmacher retired is when my love for F1 was born and now an absolute fanatic about this sport.

F1 2009 season started in Australia in March of this year and will continue until November. An exciting nine month season of races hosted in different parts of the world. My favourite tracks include Monaco, Silver Stone and Singapore for the night race.

What is exciting about F1 is the different countries and their tracks. Each track is unique and offers a different challenge to the teams and racers.

Intense discussion about tyre changes, laps, weather conditions, pit stops, which driver over-took who and when. My family; ‘The Barones’ watch each qualifying race and the highlights, and then scrutinize to the finest detail. I admit I am hooked but cannot bare the last few laps, where anything can change and any driver can win the race.

The final race of the year is being held in Abu Dhabi 30 Oct – 01 November, so see you all there. 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship Race Calendar – http://www.formula1.com

I proudly can say I have F1 Fever. Even though I have a soft spot for Jenson Button my loyalties are with my Italian family, I can only love one and the only F1 team, Viva Ferrari!!

Rock ‘n’ Rolex!!!

When I think about a Rolex watch, I immediately associate it with a symbol of ultimate style and status.

Founder of Rolex, Hans Wilsdorf’s philosophy is commitment to excellence. Rolex is truly a testimony of quality, flawless craftsmanship and high technology. Unlike other brands, Rolex watches are investments to be made, they will always hold their value; especially the collector’s watches that only increase with time. The starting price of this supreme engineering can cost anything from 2k upto 150k.

So I asked one of my closest male friends, “why Rolex?”, as he has over sixteen in his collection. Last time I saw him, he was wearing, the Submariner 16610 LV, green bezel, which I must say was stunning.

He told me “I buy Rolex because I know the name is guaranteed in every way. It’s a recognized symbol of quality and success. It’s definitely a manly brand as compared to others. It makes a statement”.

I have nothing else to say but it is truly is the ultimate lifetime man accessory. I suggest the Rolex GMT - Submariner –116713 LN, black bezel cerachrom disc.

“All I want to do is tell you that I love you, He’s wearing my Rolex!!”
