Celebrity Style - Pierre Garroudi
Name: Pierre Garroudi
Occupation: Designer
Location: Pierre Garroudi Gallery, London
I was invited as a guest to attend the Miss Top Model Competition by my friend and designer Omar Mansoor. It was there I bumped into Pierre a designer who was also showcasing his collection. Intrigued by his designs I wanted to know more.
When meeting Pierre at his gallery he told me his inspiration largely comes from his influences of different cultures and travelling. Pierre is of mixed heritage, French mother and Iranian father. His childhood was spent in Tehran but spent most of his late teens growing up in France and Boca raton in Florida. As a teenager Pierre always wanted more from life and so he decided to venture off to ‘The Big Apple’. New York wasn’t easy at first, Pierre starting off by working in French restaurants just to get by but was in search of something more exciting. Then one day a friend told him about ‘The Fashion Institute of Technology’ in Manhattan. Pierre enrolled to study a Design Diploma but soon became bored of the routined school life. However Pierre continued with his self taught designing methods and went on to set up his own boutique.
Pierre has designed for many celebrities and personalities, ones that we all know includes Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall for the early episodes of Sex and the City, MTV presenters and television.
After 14 years Pierre decided he would move to the UK and set up his Gallery in London. His Gallery also showcases unique contemporary art, furniture and lighting.
Pierre is known in the industry as a futuristic designer and his signature is the pleating technique; complicated, intricate and like a maze of wonder. Indeed his time consuming technique creates magnificent end results.

Pierre’s struggle only makes him more determined, he continues to grow and develop his ideas and concepts to shock and inspire.
I was delighted to meet Pierre, a pleating Mogul. Thank you Pierre for your innovative style and passion for fashion.
