Style Greatness !

Style Greatness !

Let me ask you ?

When you wake up in the morning, get dressed for the day and step out of the house, what does the world think about you?  Is it housewife or footballers wife?  Is it high-flyer or average Joe?  We live in an image driven world where our clothes speak louder than our words.  What do your clothes say about you?

Your appearance is initially what people will judge you by and first impressions are formed within only 30 seconds.  However if your appearance is less than inspiring your perceived in a negative light, it could take several more occasions to reverse this poor first impression.  It is vital that your clothes talk for you and convey positive and confident messages.

Whether you are attending an interview, going to the races or preparing for your big day; your style is your signature.  Your style should be unique and your style should be you.  Focus on enhancing your individuality and avoid making expensive and embarrassing mistakes.   Raise your confidence by selecting the right look.

Ask yourself why we buy and wear the clothes that we do? Purchases made on impulse, during the seasonal sales, or merely because of fashion trends are usually those outfits that never leave your wardrobe.  Fashion is constantly changing and each season sees the appearance of new colours and shades often dictated by catwalk creations from contemporary to avant-garde trends.   Interpret trends of the forthcoming season to suit your individual image.  With the recession peaking in early 2009 we saw a colour progression.  Spring/summer trends were brighter with block and acidic colours hitting our stores.  However all fashion trends are not made for everyone.

One of the most important aspects of style is colour; there are particular colors for each of us that will compliment us more than others.  This is determined according to skin tone, eye and hair colour.  Wearing correct colours can make you look younger, vibrant and even help diminish wrinkles and dark circles.  For example, darker skin tones should usually wear colours with depth and avoid wearing pastels, as it will drain the colour and brightness from your face.

In addition to choosing the correct colours, accessorizing can instantly change and update your wardrobe.  Accessories are to clothes what icing is to cakes.  The correct shoes, hats, glasses, Jewellery, gloves and even your buttons are like cake decorations that can make you attractive enough to eat!

Attention to cleanliness and hygiene is also an important part of your grooming routine.  It is not just catwalk models that benefit from make-up artists and hair stylists.  Seek advice on the latest beauty/make-up trends and how they can be adapted to suit and elevate your look.

The rules of colour, accessories and grooming should always be applied in the workplace.  Your image can be perceived as a direct reflection of your work, shabby image creates an impression of poor performance while a sharp, clean, and well-groomed image shouts polished and professional.  Corporate colours such as black, grey and navy maybe a necessity but can be made to look outstanding by attention to detailing.  Adding an expensive pair of cufflinks to your outfit can uplift your image.  Also handbags and shoes are an ideal way to bring your corporate colours to life.

In the work environment it is crucial to invest in ourselves in order to help climb the corporate ladder.  If you are going for that important interview or promotion; conducting an international seminar or socializing over cocktails; dress for the event and differentiate yourself from your competitors by creating an image that provides empowering and effective influence.

In our society famous personalities further demonstrate the importance of style.  Celebrities are chosen to endorse particular products and designers because they know the name will sell their label.  Nicole Kidman, for Chanel perfume, Madonna for Louis Vuitton handbags and Penelope Cruz for L’Oreal mascara are prime examples of brand association.  Looking back to the style icons of the 1950’s and 1960’s: Hollywood’s Marilyn Monroe, Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn to Bollywood’s Rekha and Jai Bachan; all were remembered for their individual image and unique sense of style; such style greatness it created an everlasting impact.  More recently we look at role models such as Michelle Obama, mother, wife and America’s first lady.  Mrs. Obama has several different roles and her styling changes appropriately depending on her audience and occasion.

Simple styling techniques can transform us from ordinary to fantastic. Fashion fades but style is eternal, create your own signature style.  Spend that little extra on a brand or designer item as your signature statement; and experience quality over quantity. When you look good you will feel good, and that feeling will create and continue to grow into our personal and professional environment.  Invest in yourself and become the masterpiece you really are.

We all need to maintain our looks, health and aesthetics, to promote confidence and enhance our personality.  Remember you are the leading lady/ man in your movie.  Become the super star you really are and groom yourself to perfection.

Show off your greatness and become the best version of yourself!

I assure you life will never be the same again.

Love & Blessings
