3.30pm and I am setting off to attend a charity event in East London. East London I hear you say, crazy I know. Travelling to unknown territory to support Islamic Help raise money for cleft and acid burn vitamins.
I’m travelling to Walthamstow, Pavillion Banqueting suite. 3 hours and 45 minutes later I finally find a small spot to park my Mito on. (only permit parking spaces in this area!).
This ‘Glizt and Glamour Charity dinner and fashion show’ was a ladies only event and organised by Shermeena Rabbi. I especially enjoyed the dancing and fashion show of the Afghani women. I met some wonderful ladies, some mothers, others working and training, and some who had their own businesses.

All funds raised will go towards carrying out surgeries for babies and children with cleft lip and palate. If you are born with this in the developing world families cannot afford to carry out surgery. Each life changing surgery costs only £150 which will save babies/children from being disowned by their familes an in severe cases killed/suicide, especially the females.
It was a long day and I was so glad to reach home and kick off my heels however I do want to congratulate the ladies for putting on a great show and raising £19,000 on the night.
